EXHIBITION

The world’s first International biennal of contemporary art designed not to be seen!… or nearly…
This ambitious artistic project is oriented to the non-visual senses (sound, space, odour, balance, temperature, vibration, etc.) and to the abstraction of the visual sense (fields of nondescript light, colour, contrast, pulsation) in an intense aesthetic exploration. The ultimate challenge for the artist, this exhibition questions the most basic premises of the artistic endeavor, and calls for an important integration of research and technology.

This exhibition is not a walk between paintings and sculptures in the classic sense but a veritable journey between shadows, hyper-lit spaces, changes in atmosphere, odors, and sounds. It is, in itself, a work of art.

This is experimental art at its most innovative. This aesthetic manifestation is about the artistic endeavor and the aesthetic communication that can be engaged by the senses. It is NOT about “effects” and certainly NOT an exhibition “for the blind”.

A committee of carefully chosen international art leaders (for the most part curators) will set the tone for the biennal. This committee and exhibition architects will be guided by experts in the fields relevant to the senses and notably the absense of vision. Artists will work directly with museographs when conceiving the works destined for the show.

The «mise en oeuvre» of the exhibition, its flow, control of the space and its visitors, and security measures will employ adapted techniques and technologies such as infra-red cameras and goggles.
